My favorite and most recommended bullet is the 280 gr WFN with .4 nose length. Plain base if you want to keep costs down, or will lap you barrels if they need it, and don't care about max power loads. The PB bullet can shoot VERY well with 1450 fps loads in 44 revolvers, with 296 or H110 powder, if the barrels are lapped. But it kills deer and elk in their tracks with good chest hits at speeds as low as 1200 fps muzzle vel, ranges out to 150 yards, so you don't have to get kicked around to get good kills. In other words the plain base would make many shooter happiest if they don't fret over getting maximum power.
With all that the gas checked version is most forgiving, and will definately be more accurate when conditions aren't perfect. Conditions like not so perfect barrels, extreem ambient or barrel temperature, etc, etc.
