Anyone still looking for a 38-55 might want to look here...

Not something I've been looking for, but I know some people here have been...

I am at least a little interested in the Buffington sight. Mostly curious about how its mounted and the base it is on.

It was posted last month too. The Smith Long range sight is a good option too, and it's made for the Target/BC. I have a Marbles tang peep #009813 for my 38-55, it will be mounted with forward screw drilled and tapped into the very back  of the frame, the rear screw into a bedded base in the stock.  ;)

No, still doing load work, after I get loads worked up that are accurate, I'll take the scope off and work with the sights out to 300yds, that's the limit at my range. I don't want to trust my old eyes when doing load work, I want to test the loads, not my eyes!!! ;D

I've decided on the Truglo globe. will report back when I get it mounted and shoot.  Already have TOTW Vernier on false tang, but really need something for the quick close one (which is what most of them are). The Vernier is really just for impressing people with how the 45-70 can thump from afar. Dinged a steel buff at 800 yds 5 in a row yesterday.  Shoulda seen the looks from the 30-06 crowd.
