I use the Hunters Specialties Scent Wafer in white acorn scent as a cover scent around my blind. I don't know if it attracts them or not, but it doesn't seem to spook them either. Where I hunt the wind tends to swirl a little around mid day. I believe it does help a little.

I have used attractants with limited success. One thing I have learned is to place the attractant away from yourself so your scent doesn't tarvel with the scent of the attractant. Just last year the guys I hunt with had some pears from their pear tree that we used. That really worked. The  deer loved it and when cut or mashed the pears put out a strong sweet odor. Of course the bears loved it too.

Never used acorn scent but did use the Acorn Rage attractant last season and although there was corn on the field where I hunt several deer made a beeline for the Acorn Rage- I missed a big doe but harvested a button buck with the xbow. this was very late in the season and we had been hunting that property hard.

Where I hunt Bay trees are the most common.  I make my own Bay tee and spray it on myself thouugh out the day.  Cover scents just make the deer comfortable and if it's a familiar scent use it!  Any thing smells better than you.  A strong common scent in the woods can be reassuring to the deer.
