I am working on this Super Blackhawk Scoping. My gun is new enough that the barrel warning is printed down by the ejector housing so I took it in to the Smith to look it over.
this guy strongly recommended not to get a B Square mount (shoots loose) and he will not even work with them. I personally dont know any better and this is just one smith's opinion.
I do know that I don't want anything coming loose and if it does, it would probably happen at the worst possible time.
I went with a Weigand mount. It is a drill and tap and I had to think about this for a few days cause I did not want any holes in that top strap either. In the end, I figure that I will never Sell this gun for any reason as it has been my habit not to sell. I figure that if I ever wanted to pull that mount that the holes could be filled with the flush mount screws and it would not be real conspicuous. Here is the Weigand site if you would decide to go that route.
