New to Montana..

I have drawen a deer tag for Montana and I am from Minnesota.  I will be hunting around Ekalaka.  Visiting friends.  Can anyone tell me what would be the best map to look for areas to hunt?  Any suggestions as how to approach Mule deer hunt.  I have hunted out of a tree for many years so this is going to be a whole new world.  Thanks for the help.  I have a ranch to start hunting on but it is not huge in size so I may have to find another area or two.   Thanks again.    Buckfever

Go to the sticky Montanan has put at the top of this forum for the Montana Parks and wildlife forum.  Search that forum for block managment lands.  These are land owners who grant public access to to hunters.  Ekalaka is in region 7.  Here is a link for Region 7 Block management. http://fwp.mt.gov/hunting/hunteraccess/blockman/region7.html
