Anyone hunting tree rats yet ?

I am planning to get out this Sat. morning and reduce the numbers by 6 ( bag limit ) , I have a private park that I hunt in the early part of the season . 17 acres of maple and shag bark hickory , plus a 3 acre pond .

I just drive in and set down at a picnic table , have a cup of coffee and wait for them to come out , not real sporting but it helps thin them out so they don't get into the buildings and trash things .

This is also one of my deer spots along with a good yote calling spot .

I was out sat. roaming around testing some 10 gauge short loads(12 loads in a ten ga hull)  I popped a squirrel and several crow even with steel you can reach a crow way up there once you switch to full power ten gauge loads

I haven`t been out yet eather, and counting on getting out Sat. also. Was going to try it this afternoon, but ended up picking up stick that came down in the wind.

Been out a few times, Mainly scouting for deer. Have shot 11 so far this year, but that was after 5 outings I believe. It's been too damn hot and dry. Now that this rain has moved in maybe it'll be a little better.
