I LOVE MY CARBINE.......

But their is no way that I would ever use it for hogs.  With a Branes X bullet, I would be willing to take a shot a one of the small Blacktail Deer we have out here.  Yes, it does have more energy than a .357, but I also would not hunt hogs with a .357.

One thing to consider is are we talking Russian hog or feral hog?
There's a difference.  :o

Some of the better advice I've read here is getting a Mosin.
Shoot they are cheap enough.   :-\
Lots of them can be found in the sub $100 range.
Heck I just bought a m44 carbine last week for $50. Really!
They basically have the same iron sights as a M1 carbine.   :P
Improved ballistics. I believe they're more accurate personally, at least at longer ranges.

Plus presto you just increased your gun collection.

Surplus ammo makes them cheap to shoot. And there a variety of it now.
