Can one frame do it all???
« on: August 02, 2003, 04:03:09 PM »
I have a Thompson 209x50 muzzleloader.  I bought a rifle barrel for it and everything is great.  Can this frame also be used for a pistol barrel (I understand the legality issue of registering the frame if I do so)  But someone told me that the muzzleloader frame cannot be used for a pistol barrel.  It does not make sense to me but I gotta ask . . . Is it true????  :?

Not considering the legal issues, all the frames are identical.  If you buy a stripped used frame, you have no idea how T/C orginially sold it unless you contact them with the serial #.

One other thing, remember that the Encore and Contender/G2 are not interchangeable.

Ok, but can I physically put a pistol barrel on the frame that I bought as a muzzleloader??  Will every encore frame accept any encore barrel? :?

Thanks,

Long.

An Encore is an Encore (frame), so any barrel made for an Encore should work on your frame (any rimfire barrels need a rimfire adapter though).
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
