I am VERY impressed with your groups. They would do any bolt action hunting rifle proud. For a lever action they are amazing!

i think its got a lot to do with Hand Loading our own instead of buying factory stuff.. and making sure every round has the exact same amount of power down to the last 10th of a grain & the bullet sitting down with an over all length of 2.540, we check every bullet after loading it to make sure and the fact its a Marlin 1895 XLR 24" Ballard Barrel dont hurt either ;} i am very impressed with my rifle. money well spent i recon..

those super duper premium gold match bullets look supisiously like gas checked cast bullets that have been nothing but tumble lubed and they didnt even put the gas checks on.
Well we went out today and shot some of these WESTCASTINGS PREMIUM GRADE PROJECTILES
GOLD MATCH 500grain RNFP 45-70 GOVT out of My Marlin 1895XLR S/S 24" Ballard Barrel 45-70 3shot group at 100 YARDS and mate it grouped great..

this rifle is sighted in for the Remington JSP 405gr from the pictures in the previous post so we never touched the scope at all we only wanted to see how these new bullets grouped out  of this marlin. and here is the full spec of what we used.

GOLD MATCH 500grain RNFP .459 Dia 45-70 GOVT
Remington Brass
Remington 9 1/2 Large Primers
33Grains of Reloader 7
3 SHot Group at 100Yards
i even added a little USA one Dime next to the group..
Felt recoil was no more then the Remington 405gr JSP bullets with 40grains of reloader 7
