Mod 1895 Stocks
« on: September 11, 2008, 04:11:25 PM »
Hello:
I'm sure this has been gone over many times, but I'll ask any way as I did not get an answer on another post.

My 95 straight stock 45/70 has seen lots of woods use, and I would like to restock it, in laminate brown if possible. I have not been able to find a source for Marlins.  Does any one have any sources for either laminate, or good hard wood replacement stocks, ???.  I'll await your replys.

Thanks All

barracudadave67 aka Dave C.

Last year, I contacted Boyd's Stocks and inquired if they offered laminated stocks for the 1894 & 1895. They said they did on a custom basis. As I recall it was around $150 for the buttstock and $75 for the forend.  I have a friend that has a nearly new stock for a 1895 for sale as of two weeks ago. If you are interested in a factory stock, email me.  kolob10@indy.net  and I will check with him for availability and price.

Google Treebone carving and check out his stuff. They're not drop in, but you can get laminates as well as hardwoods.

Try this place. I have purchased a couple of stocks from them for various Marlins.

GBO Sponsor Gun Stocks, Inc. makes stocks for Marlins I'm pretty sure and have a wide variety of woods to chose from to include a wide variety of laminates. Give Ed there a call.
