209 carriers
« on: September 29, 2008, 03:52:57 AM »
Met for lunch Saturday with Don Gilmore (chipdon) and his wife Carol who were up on the Upper Peninsula bear hunting.  During lunch we were talking about the Huntsman and Sidekicks.  Don and I both agreed we'd stick with the carriers.  Despite blowback, they work best for us when and where we hunt....December in Northern Michigan.  Neither of us has experienced hangfires or misfires, we both use Tripple 7 pellets and lead bullets. not sabots.  We concurred that they are much easier to use with gloved hands than the 209s alone or the .25 cal.  We found that if we kept the rifles clean we had no problems.
Keep both eyes open and make the first shot good.
