Man, the elk at Cataloochee are in full rut. Quite a sight to see, herding their cows and bugling at each other.
The wife and I got there around 7 pm Thursday night and set up camp.
Friday morning I reset the 11 X 14' tarp just before the rain started. It rained off and on most of the weekend, and we gave the new Marmot Precip rain suits a good test. We were ready for the rain so it didn't slow us down any.
We ate good, had a big fire at night and the rain on the tent made for great sleeping. Temps of around 70 during the day and high 40's at night. We came home Sunday afternoon, but the wife wasn't ready and would have stayed the week had I had more time off.
Nows a great time for camping!
We had a great time!
