Remington 700ML Scope Bases
« on: September 30, 2008, 12:45:29 PM »
I picked up a like new stainless Remington 700ML for a really good price, and I was wondering if the Weaver scope bases for a Model 700 centerfire rifle are the same?  I wish I had the skill it would take to drop this action into a short action 700ADL walnut or laminated stock.

Yes the Remington 700 scope bases for a center fire fit fine on the ML.

Problem with trying to fit a ML action in a stock for a center fire is the small fore arm and the ram rod channel.
Seen a 700ML in a walnut stock and the fellow said he got the stock from a company that does gun stocks.

Boyd's was making them.  I believe any 700ADL Heavy Barrel stock would work but you'd have to drill the ramrod hole.

I picked it up today and the Weaver Model 700 bases and Quad-Loc rings I picked up on sale at Walmart for $5.00 a few months back fit it perfectly. I mounted a Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32 on it and a 2+2 black web sling. It came with all the paperwork & tools that Remington shipped from the factory. I might spring for the Cabela's 209 Conversion kit.

I put the Cabela 209 kit on my 54cal and am not overly impressed. Keep the bolt & spring clean make sure the #11 nipple isn't peened over on the end, it will fire T 7 just fine every time.
I still use the # 11 caps on my 50 cal.
