A month or two ago, I bought a bundle of green onions at the store. As I used the tops in corn bread & salads, I stuck the bottom part (the bulb) in a pot of dirt on my deck. I now just go out and trim off what I need. They grow back as fast as I can use them. I'm sure some of you already knew this trick but I felt pretty smug. I love green onions. This has made a nice addition to my herbs, and it didn't cost me nothing to speak of.
