One mess up here.
« on: October 06, 2008, 09:40:19 AM »
We have two Senators Lisa Murkowski, and Ted Stevens.  One Congressman Don Young.  We want to replace them all, but the Democrates running against them is worse than they are.  They keep beating the Republicans in the primaries.

Take Don Young, (The highway to no where in Florida guy) Sean Parnell ran against him in the primary.  Election night Sean had a sizable lead.  Then the returns from the villages started coming in.  Seans lead started dewindeling.  Don married a Native woman from one of the villages and is highly respected by the Natives.  He has been able to get a lot of things done for them.  Then Don Young was declared the winner.  Now Ethan Burkowitz, a big wig Democrat from Anchorage is running against him.

Then there is Ted Stevens, Uncle Ted.  Under indictment for bribery.  We love him, many of us think he was set up by VECO.  But he is getting old and many of us feel he is senile, so it is time for him to go.  Unfortunately no one decent was running against him in the primary.  Now we are faced with Mark Begich running against him.  Mark is the mayor of Anchorage, a Democrat with a strong anti gun record, and a lot of social spending.

Now for Lisa Murkowski.  Lisa was appointed six years ago by her father, when he resigned his senate seat to become Governor.  Then when her first term was up, no republician ran against her.  Tony Knowls, who Murkowski replaced as govoner was the only one running against her in the general election.  So there again we really did not have a choice.  We all held our noses as we marked those little cards.

The only decent politician we have is running with McCain.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Oh Yea, the second posting on every thread is an add for Don Young.  I have to look at his smiling face.  I'm sure only us Alaskians are seeing him.

Well, as for Stevens finance disclosure trial, it appears that the judge in this case is extemely critical on disclosure of evidence not being submitted to the defense.  Imagine a subpeanoed witness sent back to Alaska on government money before the defense had opportunity to cross examine.  Imagine not disclosing evidence by their star witness, himself testifying in return for a reduced sentences, omitting first evidence that this witness indicates Stevens willingness to pay completely for the remodel.  Young has been under investigation for months without an indictment.  Lisa is doing a better job than her father ever did.  Even under the clouds from opposition candidates, these people are much better than any of the Dems running for their offices.  Begich promised not to raise Anchorage taxes.  He did not.  He just doubled the property assessments throughout the municipality for revenue for his pet projects.  So, the residents got taxed at the same rate, but paid double the amount.  Begich states that is not a tax increase.  I know he doesn't support firearms owners or the right to CCW in Alaska.  No to him too.
Greg lost his battle with cancer last week on April 2nd 2009. RIP Greg. We miss you.
