« on: September 23, 2008, 05:30:24 AM »
Contemplating a move.  Was looking at their regs book.  WOW!  My question is...is a T/C Black Diamond a leagal weapon there?  Can sabots be shot with the right bullet?  Thanx in advance.

Yes on the BD and sabots, just no jacketed bullets or 209 primers, #11 or musket caps only. No glass sights unless you're visually impaired and get the permit for a scope.  I have two BDs, they work well. I use RWS flangeless musket caps with a short piece of surgical tubing over part of the cap where it joins the musket nipple for a water tight seal. ;)

Thanx Tim, my BD was a tack driver and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one if needed...just so dirty.  The musket caps actually singed my left thumb sometimes  ;D.

I've hunted with a flintlock for several years during the modern season just because Washington's ML seasons stink for the most part. :-\ The scoped Omega would be fine even tho scopes and enclosed ignition would make it illegal for the ML seasons.

Thanx again, Tim.  Maybe when I get there, I'll IM you and you can help me get pointed in the right direction.  I hunted Columbian Blacktails when I was a kid with out much success.  Been an avid whitetail hunter since I moved to Ohio 31 years ago.  Successful enough, but no Booner's  (have missed 2  >:( ).  Thanks for taking the time to fill me in...
