Thinking of putting a red dot type scope on my 10/22.  I have looked at the BSA, but I know that BSA is on the cheap side, any other affordable brands that you guys would suggest on a semi-auto .22 rifle?

I plan to use the gun for casual target shooting and as a backup rifle for crow hunting that could be used on crows that are out of range for my shotgun.

Thanks.

I havre a Bushnell 1" dia. on my 870 12 ga. and have had no problems shooting slugs.  Have also had Tasco Pro-Points on a .44 mag. revolver and a couple of .22 pistols with no problems.

My 454 ate a Simmons up in five rounds. IMO AimPoint is one of the best.
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.

I have a couple of the simmons on rimfires and they work fine Just took one off a 22mag  only because i found an old scope with a long tail behind the turret  that gives proper eye relief (this can be a problem on some old guns) after a couple of bricks thru it the bullets were still hitting under the dot from 25 to 100 yds. so it must be doing something right.
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

I use a BSA on my mossberg 835 slug gun. I shoot 3" slugs and have not had any problems with it ever.
The only problem I have noticed is when it a bright sunny day,the dot can be hard to see.....even when set at 10.       ;)
aim small miss small,
think small,miss not at all

I have a 50mm BSA and it is a waste of $ regardless of the low price.  If you move your head, the Dot moves. You would have to glue your chin or cheek on the stock to get the same zero.

I have a Tasco aimpoint on a 870 that I sighted in fifteen or twenty years ago and it still shoots to the point of aim with no other adjustments. It is the easiest scope to use on a running deer that I have ever used.I have a Barnett red dot that has only made eight or ten trips to the field and it is already junk.
