if you get in the lane of one of those loggin trucks or vice versa, seat belt or not, your goose is pretty much cooked.

I've met hundreds of logging trucks on single track roads, if you suspect logging operations are going on, you'd better be driving defensively and be going slow enough to get out of their way, otherwise you may be SOL. I've had to back up quite a ways a few times to find a spot wide enough to let them pass, but I've never had a close call.
