How is the accuracy, feeding, and trigger?

The Savage is the only lefthand .17HMR on the market.

George, I have been considdering one also, probably one of the best "Go Bang" for the buck out there.
I was going to point you over to rimfirecentral, but I see you have already been there. Look around a little bit on the Savage forum and all of your answers are there.
By the way, I am a lefty, and find my converted 10/22 magnum to a 10/17 very comfortable to shoot, and very accurate, it's just a tad more costly than the Savage 93.

I wouldn't buy anything that savage makes after taking my son's 30/06 apart to ligthen the trigger. It was real elcheap-o in the way the action and trigger are set up and I've been hearing comments at RFC saying that the quality is just not there like is with the other major brands but if I was a lefty that might make it a different situation.

I own one and would buy another without hesitation. I have only shot it with the Hornady ammo, but at 100 yds it shoots 1" groups at
100 yds.

The only problem I encountered was the trigger, I installed a rifle basix trigger and now don't have any complaints.

I have a box of Remmington and CCI to shoot, I'll report back on that later.

I own 3 savage rifles and 2 strikers, all shoot great.

I bought one yesterday. There are two models, one a lighter gun with synthetic stock, and another model with laminated stock and heavy barrel. I got the lighter model. I went home, ran some swabs through the barrel and went out with a box of Remingtons. I was shooting off the side of a gas grill and sitting in an $8 chair, and shooting at 70 yards. I did not shoot a group larger than one inch, adjusting the scope I had mounted. The trigger is heavy, but breaks cleanly, and I plan on taking a look at the mechanism later this week. I think that I could shoot around 0.5 inch at the distance, as most of the groups had horizontal dispersal from the improvised rest I was using. :grin:

Could someone look at the exploded view in the owner's manual and tell me whether the barrel is threaded or attached via some other means?
