M1 Garand plinking bullets
« on: February 07, 2009, 04:52:10 PM »
Hello all. Where can I purchase (since I reload) 150 gr. or thereabouts Bulk FMJ's for my Garand? I just can't see buying soft points for casual shooting.  Thanks for your help.  Kix

150 grain FMJ surplus or 147 grain FMJBT surplus bullets for the 7.62x51 NATO should be widely available at your local gun shows.  That's where I got mine.  Midway and other reloading supply houses should have them too.

check the classifieds in Shotgun News.  There are always bulk bullets in the reloading section.

Thanks for your replies. I never thought of Midway selling bulk bullets although I do buy bulk Rem. Core-Lokts  from them. I have a Midway catalog in front of me right now and will check it out; also Shotgun News when I can find one. I have been shooting Korean ball but recently read where they can damage your gun and besides, they're corrosive. I am going to pull what bullets I have left and just make my own, peace of mind comes pretty cheap when compared to my hard-earned M1. Thanks again.  Kix
