I am going to give them a try as I see people post on them and like them.
I will work mine up in a 700 with 24" barrel but I got to get me some cases
shot so I can neck size and work them up, I will try to check back in and we can compare notes.
And good luck too ya with the testing

I've never loaded the Sierra 140 but have the Hornady 140 BTSP and I used 52.0 grains for my accuracy load in the .270 Winchester. I seem to recall it was a near max but not really quite max book load for that bullet from the Hornady manual I was using at the time. For me at least it worked out to be the most accurate .270 handload I ever developed in my rifles.

Well I went to the range today and shot my rifle.I shot a three shot group and almost fell out of my chair.Looking through my scope all I could see was just one bullet hole.I walked down to my target and put my index finger over the three holes.I didn't measure it but it was the best group I have ever shot.I am loading.53.0 grains of Imr 4350,Winchester new brass,Sierra game king 140 grain bthp,200 cci primer.I measured the bullet to the lands and it was 3227.5.I put the bullet 3 thousands off the lands.Hope this info helps you out.I will post some pictures next time I go to the range and shoot.Btw my rifle is a Browning Bar 270 winchester.

Great results!  Who says you have to use fireformed brass to shoot good groups?   8)

Greybeard you should give the Sierra 140's a try.I have a bunch of friends who use them and they are awesome on whitetail.Seems like the hotter you load them the more accurate they shoot.I have mine just 3 thousands off the lands. The reason that some many off us shoot them is we are able to get them close to the lands and use them in a semi automatic. We still hunt with dogs in Mississippi and need follow up shoots.I can put three touching holes and the 4th shoot is just next to it.That is if I keep my barrel clean after 14 shots.BTW I like your website.I have learn alot of stuff by looking around.

I no longer own a .270 rifle of any sort but even so I used reloads only for practice and always hunted with factory ammo from either Hornady or Federal.

Here is a picture of some of the groups I have been getting. These groups were shot of the tail gate of my truck using a lead sled.Someone stole my bench that I have been using. The first group on top measured .890 and the one one the bottom was just a ragged hole.I couldn't get real steady shooting off my tailgate. The range I was shooting on was 120 yards. Both were three shot groups.
