Is the reciever stainless or .....

is the reciever stainless or is it coated to look that way? I don't know why I didn't look into this before and I'm glad I'm checking now. I don't like it when we get fooled into thinking it's stainless because the barrel is.

I called as you were posting and yes the reciever is stainless steel. He also told me that any combo regardless of caliber is eligable for the $50 rebate. I"ll be getting a 308 after all.
