reloadind statement
« on: October 23, 2008, 01:32:06 AM »
I have found on this site and other sites  people asking about getting into reloading. I am a new reloader myself and find it very enjoyable, however it can be hazardous. it is very safe if you PAY ATTENTION and follow the same procedure every time.
The point I want to make is only use printed load info. you will find some people on the web that have the best load JUST A LITTLE OVER MAX. The web is a great place to get info BUT always check the load you get off the net with published info from manuals. never exceed the min or max loads and buy manuals read them and reread them. start low and work up to max slowly you will find that the most accurate load is usually below max and accuracy kills not speed out of a load you cant shoot well. just be carefull and dont use joe the plumbers load with out checking it against whats in the manual I have seen some very good and very bad advice on the web.
another point I would like to make is dont start reloading to save money. It will be cheaper BUT  you will only shoot more and it will still cost you what you can afford. ITS JUST THAT YOU GET TO SHOOT MORE FOR THE SAME MONEY.

All good common sense.

Anything on the web should always be considered crap until it can be comfirmed by a reliable source, not just handloading data.

I do reload to save money and I am able to shoot more to improve myself as a hunter/shooter.

Overall I have saved thousands of dollars reloading.

Another way to be safe is to look in your cases after they have been charged with powder. Even in loadings where it is difficult to see the powder charge, a double charge will be obvious.
