HI, I'm Mike
« on: October 16, 2008, 05:39:58 AM »
HI, I'm Mike, and I'm an addict.
I'm addicted to GBO! It started with an occasional look to see what was going on. First it was about Handi-rifles. Then it became a few minutes more each day until now I'm setting in front of this damn computer all day!!
My wife left me, the remains of the dog are in the back yard, starved to death, the city turned off my electricity, and I ran a drop cord from the house next door to keep my computer alive. Hope my neighbor dosen't find the line!!
I find myself getting into other people's arguments simply because I can. I strain my poor deranged brain trying to find something to start a discussion with.
I'm hopelessly addicted to this website. And now I admit I need help. It may be too late.
Can I clone myself so one of us can go to work, and I can stay glued to this screen??? Is there any hope!?!

Perhaps a laptop computer with a wireless card would allow you to go to work and keep up with posts here.  :o Hey a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.  ;D

Hi Mike

Nope, I'd say you're a hopeless case.

But...... since you're going to be on the laptop looking in here all day, why don't you ship me all your rifles. What the heck, you're not going to need them, and I'll treat them good.

Mike, you're not alone. Just accept it.

The laptop idea works great at home, too. Don't have to stop typing/viewing while in the bathroom.....I think my legs are going numb  :o

Mike, I had mine remove a couple of years ago. And then the following year they did the laser treatment as well.
You're not going to believe how well you see afer they get done with it. Before they did them I had to use 9 inch targets at 50 yards in order to see them. Now I use two inch dots with a peep sight.
Hope you can get them done soon.

My optometrist, who is also a close friend, says that most eye surgeons won't cut until he can't get me better than 20/70 with glasses.
That may not be too long for the left one as my vision in that eye is changing at the rate of about every six months.
Everyone I've talked to has been positive about the procedure.

Hi Mike,
Are you saying we should start a support group like AA.  And call it GBA? (Gray Beard Anynomous)
A friend of Bill will take on a new meaning.
So let me get the meeting started.
My Name is Brian,  I'm a post a Holic!
I was a shootaholic, and went to the gun club meetings that i belong to, till I found out that you can sit in front of the confusser and talk about shooting with others and not have to spend the time, money, ammo, Clean the toys, or have wear and tear on the truck to talk to other shooters and hunters.

My name is Land Owner (hehe) aka Richard.  I have not one but multiple habits on-line.  I ply these pages looking at the Forums of interest, there are so many, posting here and there, checking the civility of the folks on board, eating up the clock.  It is a diversion from - forget it, I am not going there.  The only better time is time spent in the woods hunting, shooting targets, making food plots, managing the land for wildlife and increasing the opportunities I have to see and potentially take game in season.  Sharing the wealth on the Information SuperHighway is a positive outlet for a creative and fertile mind.
