Paper work only said "refit barrel and forend, test".   I have no way of knowing if it is the original 22-250 barrel or not.

Update:  Last night I removed the scope from the H&R to put on my new .308.  Before sending the gun back to Remington I had removed the scope rail and reinstalled it again and never used lock tight.  Last night, trying to figure out why the gun don't shoot worth a hoot I figured while the scope was off I would put lock tight on the base screws.

guess what, the screws already had lock tight on them and the screws had never been backed out breaking the seal.  That indicates to me that they actually replaced my barrel.

88 days and counting.

91 days and counting

94 days and counting.

You think it will make it here for opening day of Muzzleloading Deer Season - Oct 13th (2008)?

WOW, tomorrow will make it 100!!!

Still no gun!!

Looking like it will miss this month.  Maybe before Oct 13th?

Anyone want to start a money pool - I'll let you know which day it comes it.

Yes, I've been in touch with them - just today in fact.

Time for another hi-jack bump

It's day 105 and no rifle yet.

Anyone know what the record is?

BTW, it's on "high priority" now.

Oct 13th is ML opening day, wasn't going to hunt that day anyway, but the 18th is either-sex day - and just happens to be the 4 month annver since they got my receiver.

I have to send my barrels back because of their screwup. I think I'LL wait and see if they get their act together. POOR, POOR, POOR SERVICE- DON'T CARE WHAT THE REASON IS.

Just got off the phone with customer service. I guess the waiting is due to the barrels still being in and made in Gardner MA., then shipped to Ilion. Hopefully I will get mine this week or next from what they told me. ???

I sent my BC receiver in on Aug 22 for a .38-55 barrel.  Didn't call them for about 2 weeks due to my being activated for Hurricane Gustav.  When I called, they told me they weren't making the .38-55 barrel any more, so I told them to fit a 7mm-08 barrel.  The receiver and barrel arrived about ten days ago, in perfect condition (other than the barrel being dirty from being fired).  I finally shot it (as well as the original .45-70 barrel this past Sunday, with good results.  With approximately one week of lag time due to my not calling them to tell them what to do about the barrels, it only took 4 1/2 weeks for them to fit the barrel and get it back to me.  The web site says 6-8 weeks, so anything less is gravy (I got gravy  ;D).  100+ days is ridiculous, though.

If your waiting on them to make a run of bbls there were times when it would take many many months. But it does appear that if they have what you order in stock 4-6 weeks is becoming the norm again. Kurt

Day 107 Bump

CS said the barrels are all fitted - won't ship without a forearm (ML).

Of course, 2 MONTHS ago, they were saying - "just give it two more weeks".

And, I was wrong about ML season in my part of my state.  The ML Deer season starts on Monday Oct 6th and ends Oct 11th.  Either sex days all week long.

Want to bet it won't make it?

I think I have the royal flush here. ;D >:( :'(  As of today, I count 121 days.  Sent 2 frames off to get barrels and some other stuff 6-13-08, and today is 10-2-08.  Was supposed to get shipped out of Ilion monday back to Gardner and then here.  Gonna take a week for the rest of the Handi family to get re-aquainted with them again. ;)  Maybe they will breed and I won't have to buy anymore! ;D  DP

DP!!  You're my hero!!

Talk about the long haul!

Did you get them back today?  I'm at Day 111.  Please tell me you got them & that all the barrels actually lock up and fit like they should.

I didn't think I'd make it, but I DID --- 120 days!!!

I'm the man!!!

Talked to them today & got the "probably about 2 weeks" - hot dang that's the 6th time!!!

I'm on a roll & NOBODY can stop me.  Please do NOT send H&R a ML forearm - they don't have any, don't know when any more will come in ('cept maybe in a couple more weeks)

The CS gal even chuckled when I asked her if see would tell me if they had actually lost my receiver.

Got my second frame back 10-14-08.  Yes, the barrels lock up tight, no everything else is not good.  See the post on got second one back, I'm tired of going over all of it.  Don't even know how many days it took, can't count that high.  Still waiting to see how they try to fix all the screw-ups.  DP
