NO! The 45acp headspaces off of the rim of the brass. (The top of the brass) There is NOTHING in the 45/410 barrel that will prevent the cartridge from sliding up to the lands.

It's called a 45\410 for 45 Long Colts and 410 shot shells. Use it that way and you will stay out of trouble.

BTW, when shooting the 45LC, always remove the choke prior to shooting!

I know it would be pointless, but couldn't you shoot a 45 AutoRim through it?  It would make a very light plinking load.

The downside to the 45-410 barrels is the long jump to the rifling when shooting 45 colts.  The autorims would be an even longer jump.  If you load 45 colt can be a great light plinking load.

I don't know about the autorims. But then, I don't know any 45LC shooters who shoot the autorim's out of their LC's either.

When I first bought my 10" 45\410 barrel, I picked up a box of factory 45LC just to satisfy my curiosity of how the 45LC's would shoot. Actually, at 25 yards, the darn thing didn't shoot to bad for a gun that had all that free-bore in it. It was certainly accurate enough to take a whitetail at 25 yards. But then, if I want to hunt whitetail, I have other handguns that will do a better job and at longer distances.

So, I use this 10" barrel for whackin nesting spring Starlings. Nasty birds those Starlings. They will drive every other bird out of their nest and just take over. Well....until they get a load of 410 birdshot!!!!
