One Sunny Day
« on: October 17, 2008, 08:08:07 AM »
One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the
White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue , where
he'd been sitting on a park bench.

He spoke to the Marine standing guard and said, 'I
would like to go in and meet with President Barack
Obama'.

The Marine replied, 'Sir, Mr. Obama is not
President and doesn't reside here'.

The old man said, 'Okay', and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White
House and said to the same Marine, 'I would like
to go in and meet with President Barack Obama'.

The Marine again told the man, 'Sir, as I said
yesterday, Mr. Obama is not President and doesn't
reside here'. The man thanked him and again walked
away.

The third day, the same man approached the White
House and spoke to the very same Marine, saying 'I
would like to go in and meet with President Barack
Obama'.

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point,
looked at the man and said, 'Sir, this is the
third day in a row you have been here asking to
speak to Mr. Obama. I've told you already several
times that Mr. Obama is not the President and
doesn't reside here. Don't you understand?'

The old man answered, 'Oh, I understand you fine.
I just love hearing your answer!'

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said,
'See you tomorrow, sir!'.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I'm holding out a little hope.  We all thought it'd be President Gore and then President Kerry...atleast that's what all the polls said.
This time around, though, I think it's just wishful thinking that osama and michelle won't be in the white house.........man, that's scary   :'(

I remember the last presidential for sure, and I can recall how down I was when I went to bed thinking that Kerry would be the next Pres. I can't help but think the press is deliberately misleading us, every 4 years.

I'm holding out some hope for McCain/Palin to come through.  I keep hoping more and more people will start paying attention to the re-distribution of wealth approach and how truly bad that would be for all of us.

How many here have EVER been consulted in a poll for a national election????? Not me. Polls are carefully done by shysters to support special agendas so they can sway the public into giving up on their choice for president. The  polls would have us believe that osama is way ahead. HEY, if osamas gonna win anyway, why go vote??? Get it now??? I don't believe polls, and believe they are constructed and designed to support a certain view and candidate. Different areas are purposely polled to get the desired results. The liberal news media pushes the polls, and backs the dumcraps. Our local Lou Courier Journal is totally run by the dems. Nothing but the left wing view, it's pathetic. POWDERMAN.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I heard a news report a few days ago that said polls are pretty much BS. The reason being there have been many elections before with black candidates involved. The polls showed they were in the lead by a wide margin and ended up losing the election by a bunch. They claim the reason was that when the poll takers call a white person is more likely to say they would vote for said black person because they don't want to sound raciest. Then when they get in that little booth by themselves with no one watching them they vote for the white guy. I happen to think there is some truth to this report. Dale

the one thing differant this time is that there will be alot of blacks vote for obama just because he is black and no other reason.  this is the first time a black man has had a chance to win and they will vote obama just on that point alone. the reason record number of voters this election

YEP. Several at work. Hard working Christians, church goers, prayerful, know gay marriage is an abomination, and killing babies is murder. Still, they are voting for a black man. POWDERMAN.  :( :( :( :( :( :(
