New EZ glide sabot
« on: October 18, 2008, 10:40:46 AM »
Is anyone noticing any differance in accuracy between the new ez load sabot's from shockwave and sst bullet's.... I have just bought 2 new box's of the 250 and 300 gr..Just havent got them to the range yet. I read a post in the Encore section where one person was finding them not grouping as well. Thanks Drop

The ez load didn't like my encore. The best thing to do is put butter bore on the harder sabot when loading. Or try 348 power belt in a 1/28 twist rifle.

This isnt looking so good so far... I should learn to leave well enough alone. My standard load (2 777 pellets and a 250 gr shockwave or sst) put's them in there at about 3/4 inch regularly @ 100yds. Hope I can exchange these..Or maybe Can I buy the older sabots? Drop

Have shot the 250 grain SST/Shockwave in the Easy Loads, the Super Glides and the old tight fitting sabots.  The tight fitting ones shoot best in my Encore.  They make about 1.25" groups.  The Easy Loads make 2.5-3" groups and the Super Glides are all over the place.

The new Hornady 50 Caliber, 300 grain, SST/ML Low Drag Sabot's shoot superb in my Remington Genesis.   100 grains of Tripple Seven loose, Tripple Seven 209 primer shoot best in my gun.  After three fouling shots that group into 2" at 100 yards then I fire three more and group under an inch at 100 yards.

Can't wait to get my can of Blackhorn 209 and try it.

The 300 grain superglides and the new blackhorn powder shoot the best in my encore and i have used alot of other loads but this one works best ,110 grain bh 209 and 300 grain super glide and cci 209 primer.
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

Billy....What size groups are you getting @ 100yds? With 100gr of 777 and a 250 gr Shockwave or SST Black sabot, I am getting an inch and under... Dont even know why I messed with a good thing... But I am looking at the breght side..I have 100 sabot's on the way And I am going to pick up some other bullet's and try to work up a load that groups small out to 200 yds... The tech from Hornaday emailed me some information about them yesterday.Drop
