Spring or Fall

I've hunted bear primarily over bait sites in the spring. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to hunting bait sites in the fall? How likely is it that the hides would be rubbed? We'er talking last week of Oct in New Brunzwick. Thanks, Rick

A disadvantage to the fall hunt it that its likely that you will see far more sows and cubs than during the spring hunt. This is an issue if you are trying to target larger males. With a late October hunt you should have very little problem with rubbed hides.
