Price check on 6" 44mag

  I've got this Taurus 44Magnum with a 6" Ported Barrel in blued finish, I am considering selling it and i can't seem to think of a price of what it's worth.

   Reason i may be selling is that i might try building an AR in 308 or 6.8spc or just buy a Glock 20 in 10mm, not sure just yet.

If it's ported with a barrel that long, then it's a raging bull (correct me if I'm wrong).  And depending on the condition a used blued raging bull in .44 magnum could go for anywhere between $350 and $500.

From the info i got on Taurus.com it was made in '94, Only thing that comes up for a model name is 44B6.

Don't want say for sure but I think ALL model 44s are stainless so if it's blue it must not be a Model 44.

Nope it's a 44B6 alright, production year 1994, I ran the Serial # through Taurus.com.   Here's a picture of it to show what it looks like.



I took others to show the ports that are on top of the barrel, but they came up to fuzzy to post'em here.

Oh, gotcha, I didn't know the old model 44's were ported as such. 

I think my book put those ones in the $200 to $400 range, depending on condition... don't have my books in front of me, out of town currently.

That's good to know, i had quoted it at $370 for some guys i know and was starting to think it might be a tad to low.

As much as i like it, it's just to heavy to want to lug around for any purpose i have in mind.

i believe that is known as the 44/444 these days. i believe it was the predecessor to the bull. it a strong framed 44 that came in in blue and stainless. i had a 4" 44 mag that was a handful of gun ,but at the same time the recoil was very manageable and it was a relatively good shooter.

Yea, i had bought the gun thinking it would be a lot to handle being a 44mag,  but even with heavy loads i don't feel worried about the recoil. I think my accuracy would be better if i had a scope on it, but if i ever find the urge to get a magnum again it just might be a Ruger BH or some 2 or 4" barrel for carry in woods. But for shear fun, this gun has it and can put a smile on a lot of faces.

From what I've read and found out, on the barrel where the ports are there isn't any rifling which takes around an inch off it to make it only 5 inches that the bullet can use.
