November 5th, Good Morning Montana
« on: November 04, 2008, 11:48:26 PM »
Well it has not been a good night, as I have been awake since 0215am.... but it's daylight some where.  I hope better hunting days are ahead, as I will begin to turn it up a bit in my quest to fill my tags.

Time for more coffee......

Woke up early myself, good morning everyone.  It's 34 degrees with about 2 inches of snow on the ground.  Streets are clear.  It suppose to warm up to the 40's today.  Hope so, we have to drive down Great Falls and take the Mother in law to airport so she can go home.  She'll be back, she bought a house two blocks up the street.

Yep to morrow i waill ratchet up my hunting intensity also.

You lucky dog you, snow on the ground.... dang that is tracking weather.

Our woods are still noisy as all get out from lack of moisture... we need the snow.

Now it's starting to feel more like huntin season!  I gotta work this sat. so not sure we will get out.  FWP doesn't have anymore B tags for mulies in the 410 area.  Have to try to find some Whitetail around that area.  Got any contacts around that area north of Winnett that would let a couple of boys get a doe each?  Hope you're feeling better Montanan.  Good luck with your hunting Double D.  DP

It has been many years since I contacted anyone in the 410 but there is alot of public access BLM Land in the 410.  You can go up the BLM Road that intersects with Hwy 244 that comes straight thru Winnett, and drive north on that gravel road.  If you look at the map, you will see that it will take you all the way out to Hwy 191.  Stop in and get some maps of what is BLM vs PP, and get yourself a big Topo Map book of Montana so you will have all the little roads listed.

You can also go east a bit on 200 and then go due north on Cat Creek Rd which will take you up into the CM Russel missouri breaks.

There is a BLM office on the east side of Lewistown, just as your coming into town on Hwy 87

As I said there is quite a bit of public access land that is BLM in the 410 good luck.

This whole area can afford you elk, mule deer, whitetail and antelope.
