It is possible to add more than seven pounds of shot to the Survivor
stock and forearm. One way to do this is to stuff plastic garbage
bags or large size zip lock baggies into the stock and forearm.
Then mix the lead shot with two part polyurethane or two part
epoxy to form a slurry. Then pour the slurry into what are now
mold cavities. When hard the slurry will form a perfect hard
plug that can be separately carried into the field in your backpack
etc and added later. I can tell you that shooting magnum 12 ga
heavy slugs is a lot more pleasant out of 12 pound firearms !
Also, Inside my slip-on recoil pads, I inserted a one inch thick
cutout from the foam used in a gymnastics mat. Makes the
Length of pull even a little longer which isnt a problem for most
guys 5'10 or taller. In addition, I took a piece of the foam six
inches wide and about twelve inches long and stuffed it under
my shirt and over my shoulder so that I had an additional inch
of cushioning when shooting off the bench. I have tried the
sandbag on the shoulder trick and that also works real well.
