That may be the case Irs, But I think your missing my point...

While an organized insurgency against the federal government would be seen by those rebelling as a just and noble cause, that is not the way the worlds media would spin it.  Those attacking the Fed. Govnt. would be portrayed as terroist.  Civilain casualties would be portrayed as a terrorist attacking innocent civilians...

Remember... History is written by those who hang heros...

Not really...

This topic really is mundane, as nobody here knows how it will happen... only that they will individually be prepared for it.  It's all speculation.  You've speculated how things will happen, I've speculated how its going to happen... but until Nov. 4 gets here... nobody will know...

It's also my personal opinion that IF BHO get the vote, nothing will happen and this country will go deeper into the socialist state that we've been plummeting towards the last 16 years... All I hear is a lot of talk, as I've heard all my young life... but's there isn't a John Wayne among us...

there are hundreds of thousands... but now is not the time, and timing is everything.
i am focused on nov 4th and how i am going to vote.  like said, it is all just speculation.   i am growing tired of worrying about it.

I too can't wait until Nov. 4.  Then at least the "hurry up and wait" portion of it is out of the way... :-\

The last 8 years have laid the groundwork for the government to do just about anything they want to people around the world and in this country.  If you think you are considered to be much different, in the end, than anybody else around the world, think again. Likely, any serious uprising will fall under the heading of "domestic terrorists", a term and charge now culturally popularized and legalized. They have several methods,,,,firearm confiscation, IRS inquiry, job loss, detainment with out habeus corpus, and so on....And it doesn't matter what your cause or whether you call yourself a conservative or liberal. Deviation from the program will be/is verboten. If civil order breaks down than another phase of the state securitate will be ushered in; eg. national ID, RCHIP and so on....all of which you will need to hold a job or travel. If the freedom soft war worsens into a hard war than you will be well advise to study tactics and techniques of insurgents fighting on the cheap against us around the world....which will earn you the moniker of terrorist...not freedom fighter.

...TM7
And let's not forget, there is a huge training ground for insurgent suppression over in Iraq.  It's not so much the regular army grunts I'm worried about, it's the private security and special forces guys who I feel would have no difficulty chasing down, capturing, and torturing American citizens that the .gov classifies as "terrorist."

now right there you just got it wrong.   there is an underground movement in s.f. with the general mindset being that when the government turns on the people, these guys will turn on the government.  s.f. guys are s.f. guys because they think for themselves.    the last people i worry about are s.f. guys.  i worry more about the various police agencies such as federal and state organizations.  those are the real people that cant be trusted and NEED to be held in check.
doubt it?  get in a match with a d.a., judge, or one of the other local power structures and see up close and personal how your fellow citizens react when they are put in a position of power.   yes, it is law enforcement you had better be aware of.

i  noticed  a different attitude in  the new generation of cops

more  of an us against  them  mentality
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind
free choice and equality  can't co-exist
AFTER THE LIBYAN COVER-UP... remind any  democrat voters ''they sat and  watched them die''...they  told help to ''stand down''

many statements made here are fiction and are for entertainment purposes only and are in no way to be construed as a description of actual events.
no one is encouraged to do anything dangerous or break any laws.

I still fear intelligence spook types, the kinds that do the waterboarding down in GITMO.  What do you think about private security types like Blackwater?

Those who speak of civil war and splitting the nation are out of touch with just how political demographics look in today's U.S.A.

I was living in Missouri when the concealed carry law was first defeated. Every Missouri county approved it, except those in KC, St. Louis, and Columbia (a college town). Similar results are seen across the nation on similar issues. The large population centers---New York, Philadelphia, L.A.---are politically very different from the rest of their states. Today, politics and culture are split very much along population density lines, with the masses of city dwellers outvoting everyone else. The only north/south, east/west split is related to population density. Should the thin veneer of civilization begin to dissolve, these high-density populations will be the first to suffer the effects. The great threat to the rest of the nation comes when life becomes untenable in the cities, and mass exodus ensues. Law-abiding citizens will feel justified in acquiring the necessities of life in whatever way they can, and the hard-core lawless will be absolutely unrestrained.

In a worst-case scenario, post-election rioting, whether celebratory or angry, could get out of control. Left unchecked, widespread unrest could start a general meltdown of law and order, with big-city politicians incapable of ordering the harsh measures that would be necessary to halt the lawlessness. Governers, stripped of National Guard forces, would be unable to step in. Putting regular military forces into the fray would set a terrible precedent, and further inflame the political situation.

I sincerely hope that none of this comes to pass. I hope we see a resilience in the American people that can handle unsatifactory political outcomes. But I know how little it takes to tun a crowd into a mob, and I will be watching carefully.

i am not worried about them, either.  at least one of the guys i trained worked/s for them, and i would be except i am a daddy now and have more important things to do; money is a secondary concern.   anyhow.... concerning blackwater.... again, ex military guys.  many who didnt agree with the way things were headed.  so they left.  went back for the money.  period.
soldiers and ex-soldiers are the biggest patriots this country has ever had and will ever see.   and when the day comes, if anything saves us it will be soldiers and veterans.  we have the knowlege, the skills, tools, tactics, and everything else needed to stand with the people.   think about the soldiers and veterans YOU know.   what do you think they would do in a bad situation?  now magnify that by how many veterans are out there, and you start to see what i am talking about.    if i have faith in anything of this world, it is in the american soldier and veteran.

Let me be on record that I am in agreement with Heather on this.  Between now and the time Obama takes the reigns (if it works out that way), we'd better be stocking up on ammunition.  The first red flag the government raised for me was when 90% of "We The People" didn't want this bailout but the government pressed on and did exactly what their constituents did NOT want them to do.  Remember, they are supposed to be there to be our representatives and they are not.  They no longer represent our needs, wants, etc.  The government has become a separate entity from the citizenry of this nation that elected them in the first place.  I believe, as does Heather, that we are overdue.  I wish it wasn't like this, but it is nonetheless.

As far as the white/black issue, I don't care if a president is white, black, purple or polka dotted but he or she had better make good on the promise of upholding the doctrine of the Constitution.  I work with some black folks and consider them my friends.  They are good people but they hold steadfast for Obama as president.  I told them both that I was not ready to sacrifice the democracy of this nation in order to set a social precedent in having the first black president. There are more important issues here, such as democracy vs. socialism than the pigmentation of someone's skin.  The scope of this is of much greater concern than that.

There will be no civil war no matter who wins the election.
This is America and the vast majority of Americans realize that this is still the greatest county on earth.
If you don't like the direction the country is headed you're in luck because we've been afforded the opportunity and freedom  to make changes in a civil  and peaceful manner through the election proscess. If you're in the minority on an issue you're still allowed to voice you're opinion.
That's what America is about.
