Marlin 336 35rem

Does anyone know if Marlin ever made a 336 texan in 35 remington? I know the made the marauder in 35 remington, but I want a Marlin with a straight stock in 35 remington. Thanks!!

Not sure about the (Texan) thelongman but Marlin has made the .35 with straight grip.  I have a
336 RC made in '64 per the Z prefix serial number with straight stock.  They don't show up too often but if you'll keep searching the auctions you should be able to find one.

Yes, and any Marlin made with a straight stock is a "Texan". Depending on age they were marked just as the pistol grip 336's as either RC or just 336. I think they marked some in the 80's as 336T and 336TS (Safety)

My saddle gun is a 336T, but in .30-30.  It is almost as old as I am.  I got it when I was 19 so it'll be close to fifty soon.  A sweet little rifle with a lot of deer behind her and she still looks brand new.

I have a straight-gripped, Marlin 336RC (serial # beginning with V) in 35 Remington.  There are a couple of others, owned by local hunters who have used them for years in my town. All are 35's.  All have slender, almost Winchester-94-ish in configuration forends, with rounded, not squared-off levers.  Nobody around here wants to part with theirs that I know of.  Some of these guys are truly one-gun hunters, as well.

A little off the line, but I just got 5 more boxes of the Leverevolution for my 35 today as they were running 15% off the price of all centerfire ammo.  Price was $19.59 a box, how does that compare to other parts of the country pricewise?  Mine is a pistol grip, 1956 the year she was born.  DP
