November 4, Good morning Montana
« on: November 04, 2008, 08:55:34 AM »
Good morning everyone, it s 39 degrees and trying to snow.

Went out deer chasing this  morning.  I say chasing because we could not have been hunting.

My wife insists that I don't go hunting alone.  So when everyone else is off working and I want to go hunting she has to go.  I am a still hunter.  I don't like sittiing in  blinds, I like to get out and walk.  She doesn't like to get out and walk.  So I leave her sitting up in high spot near where deer might cross and she can see me cover my route of about 2 1/2.  It takes me about 2 hours to cover this ground.  At the end of two hours she is supposed to drive down and pick me.  Since we at times are as far as a mile apart, we have come up witha few hand and arm signals.

Both arms straight up over my head--Touchdowns-Score---I got a deer, come get it.

Raise my rifle over my head, I see deer, walk down to me so you can shot one.

Both arms extended straight out from my side---I shot and missed the deer is safe.

This morning as I came over a hill and I spotted some deer. I back off and turned and looked to wards my wife wh I could see sitting alonga fence line about a 1/2 mile away.  I raised the rifle over my head and held it there until i saw a response from her.  She got up and walked over to the truck and started driving down to me...clearly ion sight of the deer I had spotted.  The deer spotted her and were gone in a flash.   She got to me and asked me where the deer was.  I said what do you mean the signal I gave you was walk to me.  She  said no you made the touch down sign. I asked her if she had looked me with here binoculars---No they were inthe truck.   Grrrrr.

That's deer chasing...now it's time to go vote.

Down sick today, watching my Primo's TRUTH 2 and 13 and Realtree Monster Bucks Vol 1 & 2

I don't think I will get much hunting in this week due to being sick, and getting a tooth pulled on Thursday... we will see.
