10 fp .223 1-9 twist, please recomend bullet weight and load you have had success with, going to kansas to hunt prarie dogs in spring. It shoots 55 grainers very well(factory ammo) will it shoot 60 grainers better?

It should stablize bullets up to and including 70 grains, but only shooting them will confirm whether your rifle will like them or not. IMO, there is nothing wrong with shooting 55 grain bullets from a center-fire 22.

I've owned 2 223 savage's with a heavy barrel like yours. Try some 69gr matchkings and varget if you can't find the varget use ramshot TAC. You will like the results.
I currently have a savage predator 223 and I use the 69gr matchking over ramshot TAC and I have a drop chart on the side of my rifle that's good out to 700 yards. The matchking isn't really a hunting round, but accuracy kills better than misses. It should do a real number on a prarie dog.
You can't go wrong with a savage 223.

As said above, try it and see what happens. I've had equal success shooting 55 grain and 60 grainers. Accuracy is so good in my rifle that I never bothered trying anything else.

I'm looking to pick up one of these to shoot the 75 grain A-max.
I bought the bullets to shoot in my RRA varminter but later found out they wont load to mag length.
I think the 1:9" twist will stablize them just fine.
