357 mag Hornady Brass length?

Hey all ,
  I was getting ready to load some 357 mag tonight. I had some Hornady LeveRevolution Nickel plated brass. The Case length was 1.250 to 1.245 On all 20 rounds.  what gives??   Min lenth on 357 Mag is 1.280 .  Anybody else see this?

Ya buddy , seen it a bunch , the reason is that Hornady shortened the cases to compensate for the bullet style they are using in that ammo , and still be able to stick within the standard COL specs .

Well that's not worth a hoot .   Will it hurt to use this brass using 38SP. Lead bullet loads?   The COL will be shorter because of the need to Crimp.

You can still crimp those shorter-than-stanard .357 Magnum cases.  Use a .38 Special seating/crimping die.
