17 HMR - Best place / Price to buy?

I just got back from Walmart and it seems they don't post
the price anymore in their special order  gun catalog.   :(

And since it was after 5pm they couldn't call and get me a price.

Anyone know what they sell the sportster in .17 HRM for??

Or does anyone know a place with a better price??  :D

I have bought at least 8 complete H&R guns from Walmart . Thier prices have always been at least or nearly 25% less than anyone. They sell them for what most local gun stores pay for them. Kurt

My biggest challenge is getting to Wallyworld during the hours
they can check the price.   

That's why I'm asking anyone out there if they've been in the
last week or so, and how much they charge(d) for the 17hrm...
(or if they found one cheaper than walmart - which is rare)

last time i priced a 22 mag it was $130 which was less than a yr ago but might have went up a bit and the 17hmr was the same price as the 22 mag at my local walmart in IL

Mine was $135 something out the door across the border in Beloit. RRARMS shows them now for $153 plus FFL fees so they are probly still about $135 no fees.Kurt

I got mine from an almost "local" dealer, as local as you can get here on Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  About 90 miles away.  I think I paid 169 dollars.  Bull barrel, synthetic.  Probably could have saved 10 or 20 bucks at Wal-Mart, but I'd rather do business with the little guy who happens to have an in house gun smith.  Besides, It keeps our money closer to home in these hard times.  The  other thing is don't ask a question at Wal-Mart, cause some kid'll guess or take two hours to find someone who might know the answer.

So, Phatinjun is right on the money at $160 from Walmart...

Finally, had a day off during the week and checked,
(and ORDERED!!) a 17HMR.

Now I just have to be patient for about 10 days until
it comes in!   :-\

Just buy it on sale, it's $9.99 a box here on sale regularly at BiMart, but I stocked up long ago when it was $7.99!! Midsouth has it for $10 regularly. Keep an eye on the ammo forums at RFC, you can take advantage of sales whenever they happen.  ;)

I've bought other stuff from Midsouth before - very pleased with
their service and price.  .17 ammo price looks good!

I was not aware of the rimfire central website.  THANKS!!!   :D

Picked up the new 17 HMR and coincidently,
I have tommorrow off!!!!   Got the scope
all setup and targets ready...
 
Can't wait to take it out for its maiden
voyage.  Hopefully, pics to follow.  :D
