What do you guys recommend for a 375 Winchester? I came across some 38-55 cast bullets yesterday and was wondering if they would work. They miced at .379

I have a 375 win big bore and have killed many a deer with it.the lyman mold (gc) drops about 270 grs from my alloy.I have also tried my 38/55 bullet 240 gr plain base sized .376 that also shoots good.I have not used this bullet on game yet.
with the 375 win loads(270 gr gc) the longest I had to track a deer was about 20 feet :grin: I have used IMR 4227 and RL7 for best results.keep the load to about 1500 fps for best accuracy.

It looks like a plain base at around 250 grains. Nose looks like a LFN. Had that Lyman 270 GC for a while too, and my .375 JDJ loved it.

This is a side issue to this thread: I was told by a company that makes dies for jacketed bullets that the .375 Winchester cartridge takes jacketed bullets of .376"d. This fact may help some understand what's going on if they are using .375" jacketed bullets, or lead sized to that diameter.
