Reserve Series of side-by-side shotgun question
« on: October 23, 2008, 04:45:28 PM »
I'm in the market for a side by side and have been looking at mossbergs newest offering. Any of you have any experience with this gun?

Thanks,
Terry

Not much personal experience. I've held both the SxS and O/U and admit they look and feel good to me. I told that to a friend in PA who bought one based on that minimal recommendation from me. Wow was he unhappy as it doubled on him consistently. I think other than that he liked it well enough but just didn't trust it due to the doubling on a regular basis. Rather than chance them repairing it for him he traded it on a CZ and has been happy since.

Thanks for the reply, Wow if that is going to be an ongoing problem I'm not interested. I have had that experience with a couple of Spanish doubles. Thats to bad I was hoping they were going to be a quality firearm. Any idea what they are selling for?

I can't say if it is or is not gonna be a problem in general with them. At the time I was looking right after they first came out the O/Us were around $400 here. I don't recall on the SxS really but generally speaking they are a bit less than an O/U.

Do they offer a double trigger option? I have always preferred 2 triggers on a double.
