Can anyone share any accuracy secrets. I have a new 209 x45 Bullberry and I can only get 2 inch groups at 50 yards. i have not even fired the gun at 100 yards yet.

90 grain 777 and Dead Center 195g bullets
110 grain 777 and Dead Center 195g Bullet
110 grain 777 and 295 grain power belts

777 is powder not pellets

all loads give about the same accuracy.

I wet patch between each shot and clean the gun with ezox and coppper brush and dry patches after every 10 rounds.

Perhaps I should go back to Pyrodex? I was hoping for gun that was 2inches at 200 yards like my old MO made Austin & Halleck.

I would try a different bullet or sabot. I had terrible patterns with several bullets. I ended up trying the Barnes Expander-MZs and they shot great. I think the sabot was actually the big difference. Definitely a harder sabot. Sean

I'll second Sean. The Barnes 195gr. expander MZ consistently shoots around 1" at 100 yds. I use 120gr. of loose Pyrodex RS. The barrel is a factory T/C 209x45. Good luck.

I also shoot the barnes bullets, but in a 50 cal.I shot a 140 class 8 point this year at 130 yards and it droped like a sack of taters,I hit it right behind the front sholders, the insides were jello. :wink:

Cleaning between shots is great but the sabot-bullet or power belt has to be a tight fit to begin with. Some will not snug up or shoot well unless the barrel is fouled. In my .50 knight, Dead centers and Nosler shots were the most accurate for me with a fouled bore. The plain jane Hornady sabot with 300 XTP was third, but it had the best point of impact when firing from a clean to a fouled bore. Only 1/2 inch difference. With most of the others there was as much as 6 inches at 50 yards. I had no problems with 777 accuracy, loose or pellets.
