I am shooting a 22" Encore 250-3000 barrel. My load is 38gr of H380, CCI primers, with 100gr NoslerBT's. Max load listed is 38.5 gr. The book calls for a OAL of at least 2.50". I am seating to a depth of 2.486" which is .014" less than book value. I do not see any signs of pressure on the case or the primer. This load was developed in 90+ degree weather (sometimes 95deg). Is there something I should be careful of if no signs of pressure are evident? It shoots an outstanding sub inch group. Thanks in advance for the comments.

Where are you getting this min OAL? I have never seen a listing for a min, only a max OAL. ( to fit std magazines ). If your staying under max loads then a few thousandths of an inch wont hurt much. KN

Ditto, and if you're getting the accuracy you want, well. if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Remember that single shots are a different animal than magazine weapons, you don't have to worry about fitting into a magazine and you can play with seating depth when the guy with a magazine rifle next to you can't.

The only time you'll have to worry about increasing pressure is when the bullet is actually touching the lands of the barrel. That can raise pressures.
