thanks dave, finally got acomputer 6moths ago and discovered internet and mail order. got a lee challenger press, lee collet sizer and factory crimp die . lee case trimmer and chamfer tool and primer pocket cleaner. given a rcbs 505 scale and alee hand primer . got a stainless caliper at agarage sale. chose lee for the price and had alee press and carbide dies for my 44mag and was happy. INTERESTING THINGS SO FAR. gota bag of remington brass locally that theprimer pockets weregouged and really cratered on the inside. [returned]. using rem nickle and plain brass. easy identify hunting load. rem nickle had case mouth ''crinkled'' . would not go into die. used tapered punch , a light tap to round. wonder what i did to concentricity [. rcbs case master and a chronograph are on my wish list] PRIMERS started using cci 200 LR . IN A moment of weakness bought some federal match [SALE]. THEY SEEM TO BE SIGNIFICNTLY SMALLER. SEAT WAY TOO EASY ON SOME OF MY RELOADED BRASS. IKNOW ENLARGED PRIMER POCKETS ARE A SIGN OF HIGH PRESSURE . BUT CCI STILL ARE FIRM . HARD TO MEASURE WITH MY CALIPERS BUT .0007? SMALLER. going back to cci .
will use federal match up on new brass only.
