Help!! I need a copy of the August 1989, Honda Service Department Wrench publication. My local dealer has been of no help in getting this for me. I need it because it addresses a factory brake problem on an older model ATV...

It's a '88 Honda Fourtrax 2 wheel drive. I bought it cheap from a guy at work for $500.00 It has a loud "squeal" in low gear and reverse. The Clymer manual said this had to do with the rear brake shoes and to refer to the Wrench Service Publication for instructions on how to correct the problem.

there is an axle bearing either in or just behind the brake backing plate that does give trouble . jack up under the chunk and see if you can wriggle the axle up and down on the brake side. try the other side also. if the brake side only is loose, that's not too bad a job. if both sides are loose, then you'll have to brgs. in the chunk and hope the gears aren't damaged.
