Barrel interchange question
« on: January 21, 2009, 11:35:47 AM »
I have,  ::)wayyyyyyy back in my gun cabinet ::), a H&R Model 176 (10 gage 36" full) Gun is in wonderful shape for its age.

Aside from the "stock" 10 Ga. 36" Full Choke barrel (equally suitable for shooting down geese or light aircraft ;D ;D ;D) can any other H&R Shotgun OR muzzeloader barrels fit this receiver and forestock?  I'd love to get some use from this receiver it at all possible.  Thanks, Jim.

a 12 gauge USH barrel or any more modern (shorter?) 10 gauge barrels should fit your receiver, however, just as with adding barrels to other receivers you may have to do a little barrel fitting, or you may get lucky and they may fit fine the way you get them....<><....:)

Sorry man the 10ga is the one odd duck or red headed step child of the handi lineup. MSP gave it to you straight...
