 I have a good bit of brass for cartridges I don't shoot.  Given the current political environment, would you get rid of it or hold it in case supply really diminishes?

I agree...hang on to it. If you can't use it, maybe a friend can or it might even be worth a considerable sum, if it is not possible or hard to get in the future. Or you could give it to me. ;D

I had some .22 Hornet brass laying around for years, but I bought a Hornet barrel for a Contender, problem solved.

I know this is a sacrilage, but has anyone sold empties as scrap? Brass is worth quite a lot these days. I got hold of some commercially reloaded 223 once that the reloader had ruined. I think they ran it in the die too far. It was quite a quantity, and I didn't want it getting mixed up with my brass. I can't remember what I did with it, I was wondering if the primers would have to be removed to sell it as scrap.

If they're not live primers, they don't have to be removed.  If they're live, I would remove them.

I've been told that the salvage yard will give you a better price if the primers are out. You might want to call and ask.

Scrap metals prices took a big drop about two months ago.  Sell it to shooters, not for scrap.

This reloading outfit had screwed it up, it was all too short. The only thing that could have been done with it was to make 222s out of it. I don't think I have it anymore, probably sold it for scrap.
