Savage 93 .17HMR

Has anyone tried one of the Savage 93's with the AccuTrigger in .17 HMR?  If so, what do you think?

I bought the newer savage with the accutrigger and heavy barrel. I owned an older version and enjoyed shooting it, very accurate. Haven't had a chance to shoot the new savage yet. RonS

I really like mine, it shoots very good, and the accutrigger is nice.

Love mine ;),The only problem is that it could have come with a better clip.

This is an old clip design for sure. Identical "in fact" to the one that came with my mid 70's Savage WMR.
These clips can be purchased even at Walmart and are marked .17/.22mag
The Son-in-law is shooting a heavy barreled 93 but without the accutrigger. I dont know if one could be installed on this? The rifle is very accurate.

Isn't this the rifle where a recent gun mag review claimed that it was the most accurate rifle of any kind that the reviewer had ever shot (or something like that)?

That would have been the MKII...not the 93. Still a Savage however! :)

I have a Savage 17HMR and it is one awesome accurate rifle.  It has completely changed my mind about Savage and the quality of there firearms.  Mine is stainless and composite stock and it seems very sturdy.  Before I would have passed on Savage but not now.    Buckfever

I liked my 93 so much I got a Mk II. I bought both with the plastic stocks and replaced them.

Mine is probably the most accurate gun I have.  It took a while to get used to the accu trigger, but I really like it now.  I even went as far as cutting about 3/4 of a coil on the trigger spring like the instructions I found on rimfirecentral.  It's almost scary how flat this round shoots.    I have mine sighted in at 100 yards and it's within an inch from 25 out to 125 yards.

I have the cheapest Savage 17 HMR they make.  Synthetic, light barrel, accu trigger, only weights about 5 lbs. and is super accurate.  Shot a lot of chucks with it last summer.  Don't think I shot any past 150 yds. but to there it was deadly.

hello,

i have been doin a little lookin at this gun myself, and could someone tell me if the stevens 310 heavy is the exact same thing, like how savage and stevens always does it, throw on a ugly stock and take off the accutrigger?

http://www.savagearms.com/st_310Hvy.htm

and is the mount part of the reciever or is it just from the factory with them already screwed on?

Bases screwed on.  Get one with the accutrigger and unless you just need  the excercise of packing around a heavy barrel get the light barrel.  JMHO
