There were some feral hogs west of Smithfield along the spoon river.Story was that a guy who lived on the south side of the river was going to start a hunting club with hogs, and the river went down so the hogs crossed over.Talked to a farmer who was retiring from farming in that area and he told me he had as many as forty hogs around his cattle when he went to feed.I don't know if you could get on to hunt, but usually the hogs cause so much damage they are glad to get rid of them.That area is pretty rough ground, full of big hills and hallows.
