Does anyone reload for a Glock 40cal? I have seen all the warnings about unsupported cases and the possibility of case explosions.  What are some of the views of the Graybeard Gang?  Just got a set of dies with another purchase and I am considering loading for my Glock 27.

As I understand it, the problem is in case expansion, not in the loads.  the unsupported part of the case can expand, and when reloaded several times with the same or similar part expanding, that part is weakened.  Eventually you'll get head separation, or a blowout when the weak area fails.

Personally, if I had a Glock, I think I'd buy once fired cases, load them once, and ditch them.  It will still be cheaper, and not worth the risk of pushing those cases.

Ive been reloading for my G22 for a while now. Im using 5.7 grains of WST with 155gr. Rainier Plated FP bullets. Ive found that this load is a nice target load at about 1000fps. Pressure is not a problem at only about 26000 psi. No web bulge. I am however limiting myself to 3 reloads per case then they get scrapped. Just stay with lighter bullets (NO LEAD) and a low to medium velocity low pressure powder and youll be fine. WST even at max is only about 29000psi, its perfect for the 40. By the way, Ive loaded and fired about 2500 rounds now with no problems so it can be done safely if ya just pay attention to what your doing. Hope this helps.
