surplus mauser

I 've been shooting cast bullets in my rifles lately and been thinking about getting a surplus mauser to play with,and i don't have a C+R license...can anyone tell me where  to get one....is it possible to get a decent one for 200 bucks?

Get a shotgun news and look around in there, Even paying FFL a fee you can still get a decent truck grade one for two hundred or less.

I've seen a few at the gun shows lately.
Might be worth a try.

A C&R licence will take a few weeks to get at best, but might be a
good investment if you're planning on getting other old rifles.

That I'll vouch for.  Most dealers in my area charge $25+ for a transfer.  A C&R is $35.  If you plan on getting more than 1 gun, the C&R is great.  Not to mention, for me, it avoids a hassle.  The FFL that I prefer to deal with when I do transfer non-C&R guns is about 50 miles away from me, so not having to make that drive is a plus by itself.
